Beaune: the beating heart of Burgundy wine country

The historic capital of Burgundy wines, Beaune embodies all the richness and elegance of this prestigious vineyard. Located in the Côte de Beaune, this appellation encompasses red and white wines of great finesse, produced on an exceptional terroir that includes numerous Premier Cru vineyards. Blending tradition and modernity, Beaune is an essential destination for lovers of characterful Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

An appellation with a unique wine heritage

Recognized as an AOC since 1936, the Beaune appellation covers approximately 410 hectares, the majority of which are Premier Cru (nearly 75% of the area). The town of Beaune, home to the famous Hospices and the nerve center of the Burgundy wine trade, is surrounded by vineyards spread across well-exposed slopes. The clay-limestone soil, the varying altitudes (220 to 400 m), and the influence of a semi-continental climate offer ideal conditions for the cultivation of...

Red and white wines of great distinction

The red wines of Beaune, made primarily from Pinot Noir , offer aromas of ripe red fruits (cherry, raspberry), flowers (peony, rose), and sometimes spicy or woody notes depending on the aging process. Supple in their youth, they gain complexity with age and can age gracefully. The white wines , produced from Chardonnay , offer refined and balanced profiles, with notes of white-fleshed fruit...

Food and wine pairings with Beaune

Beaune red wines pair wonderfully with roast poultry, white meats, and slow-cooked dishes such as beef bourguignon or sautéed mushrooms. The white wines go perfectly with fish in sauce, fine shellfish (lobster, langoustines), poultry in cream sauce, or even certain soft cheeses like Brillat-Savarin.

Our selection of Beaune

Les Vins de Carole has assembled a selection of Beaune wines from the finest vineyards and winemakers. Whether you're looking for a distinguished Premier Cru to cellar, a supple and fruity red for meals with friends, or a refined white to accompany your festive dishes, our collection showcases the richness and diversity of this iconic appellation of the Côte de Beaune.
