Côte de Beaune
Domaine Larue spans 17 hectares across the renowned villages of Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, and Aloxe-Corton. This geographical diversity offers an exceptional wealth of terroirs, from the southeast-facing slopes of Saint-Aubin to the grand limestone hillsides of Aloxe. The estate is particularly renowned for its mastery of the classified Saint-Aubin vineyards, with nine iconic Premier Crus such as En Remilly, Les Champlots, and Murgers des Dents de Chien. The fine marl-limestone soils, the cool exposure, and the varying altitudes impart remarkable purity and depth to the wines.
Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Aligoté
Established in Saint-Aubin for several generations, Domaine Larue has built its reputation on loyalty to its roots and a deep respect for the terroir. Run by Denis and Didier Larue, now assisted by their sons Bruno and Vivien, the estate embodies an exemplary family legacy. Each generation has contributed to its development, combining experience and innovation. The estate's philosophy is based on the patient observation of the vines, an understanding of the individual plots, and adaptation to the vagaries of the climate. The watchword is trust: trust in nature, in people, and in the Burgundian winemaking heritage.
Vineyard work relies on meticulous attention and constant care. While the estate doesn't claim any official certification, its practices are inspired by organic and biodynamic agriculture. Controlled cover cropping, limited tilling, respect for living soils, and the absence of non-essential synthetic products all contribute to a sustainable, balanced, and environmentally friendly approach to viticulture. Short pruning allows for controlled yields and optimal grape ripeness. Each plot is worked individually, with a non-systematic approach tailored to each vintage.
The harvest is exclusively manual, allowing for rigorous sorting of the grapes directly in the vineyard. Vinification is tailored to each plot and the specific conditions of the year. For the reds, a variable proportion of whole clusters (up to 60%) is incorporated, depending on the ripeness of the stems, to preserve freshness and complexity. For the whites, pressing is gentle and prolonged, fermentation takes place in oak barrels, followed by aging for 10 to 18 months. Lees stirring is moderate to maintain tension and vibrancy. Bottling is carried out at the estate, ensuring complete control over each stage.
The wines of Domaine Larue are regularly praised by wine critics for their precision, authenticity, and ability to faithfully reflect their terroirs. The Saint-Aubin Premier Cru wines – notably En Remilly and Les Murgers des Dents de Chien – have become benchmarks within the appellation. In Puligny and Chassagne-Montrachet, the estate's wines impress with their balance of richness and tension, while the reds from Aloxe-Corton and Blagny display structure, minerality, and aging potential.
With a range of 22 wines – 14 whites and 8 reds – the estate offers a nuanced and expressive interpretation of the Côte de Beaune. It includes regional, village, and classified appellations, from Bourgogne Chardonnay Les Chaumes and Pinot Noir Champ de Perdrix to Grand Cru Corton-Perrières, as well as the prestigious names of the Côte. Each wine reflects the spirit of the house: sincerity, finesse, and a pure expression of the terroir.
Discover the selection of wines from Domaine Larue and let yourself be seduced by the finesse of the whites of Saint-Aubin, the depth of the reds of the Côte de Beaune and the elegance of a perfectly mastered Burgundian know-how.
