Located in Morey-Saint-Denis, Domaine Hubert Lignier cultivates its vines in exceptional appellations: Clos de la Roche, Clos Saint-Denis, Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, Nuits-Saint-Georges, and Pommard. The soils, primarily clay-limestone, give the wines their refined structure and a minerality typical of great Burgundy terroirs.

Iconic grape varieties

Red: Pinot Noir

Philosophy and History

Founded at the end of the 19th century , the estate is now managed by Laurent Lignier, the fifth generation of an iconic Burgundy family. Committed to converting to organic farming since 2016, the estate has been certified organic since 2019. Its philosophy is based on respect for the terroir, the preservation of biodiversity, and sustainable and precise viticulture.

Production specifics

The harvest is exclusively manual, with meticulous sorting of the grapes. Vinification is traditional: fermentation in open vats with indigenous yeasts. Aging lasts between 18 and 24 months in French oak barrels, with moderate use of new oak (20 to 30% for village appellations, up to 50% for Premier and Grand Cru wines). The wines are neither fined nor filtered before bottling.

Recognitions

The estate enjoys a reputation for excellence among enthusiasts and critics. Its wines from Grand Cru vineyards, notably Clos de la Roche and Clos Saint-Denis, are regularly praised for their elegance, aromatic intensity, and remarkable aging potential.

Combining rigor, heritage and finesse, Domaine Hubert Lignier has established itself as a benchmark in the Côte de Nuits, with wines of rare purity and depth.
