Savigny-lès-Beaune: the understated elegance of the Côte de Beaune

Located north of Beaune, the Savigny-lès-Beaune appellation perfectly embodies the balance between tradition, accessibility, and the finesse of Burgundy wines. Recognized as an AOC since 1937, it is one of the largest in the Côte de Beaune, offering a beautiful diversity of red wines (mostly) and some refined white wines . A terroir for wine lovers, both affordable and authentic.

A vast terroir encompassing numerous climates

The Savigny-lès-Beaune vineyard covers more than 350 hectares, including nearly 280 hectares planted with red grapes (Pinot Noir) and approximately 45 hectares with white grapes (Chardonnay). It is spread between the Bouilland and Pernand-Vergelesses hillsides, with varied southeast and northeast exposures. The clay-limestone and gravelly soils offer ideal conditions for the delicate expression of Burgundy grape varieties.

This diversity is reflected in the numerous Premier Cru vineyards , such as “Les Lavières”, “Les Serpentières”, and “Aux Gravains”. The reds produced here are supple, fruity, and floral, with a fine tannic structure. The whites, though few in number, are of very high quality, displaying freshness, beautiful tension, and aromas of citrus and white flowers.

Harmonious food and wine pairings

Savigny-lès-Beaune reds are perfect with roast poultry, grilled white meats, light Burgundian cuisine, or soft cheeses. Their suppleness makes them very approachable young, but the Premier Crus can also age gracefully in the cellar (5 to 10 years).

White wines pair beautifully with seafood, grilled fish, a blanquette, or a savory tart. Their freshness also makes them ideal as an aperitif. These are convivial wines, perfect for discovering the world of Burgundy's vineyards in an unpretentious way.

Les Vins de Carole: Authenticity and finesse guaranteed

At Les Vins de Carole, we select Savigny-lès-Beaune wines that reflect the full diversity and subtlety of this discreet appellation.
