Nestled within the prestigious Loire Valley appellations of Pouilly-Fumé, Pouilly-sur-Loire, and Saint-Andelain, Domaine Michel Redde encompasses 42 hectares of unique terroirs: red flinty clay (Bois de Saint-Andelain), Kimmeridgian marl (Les Cornets), Portlandian limestone (Champs des Billons), Oxfordian limestone (Les Toupées), and an exceptional plot planted in a former quarry (Barre à Mine). This geological mosaic, on southeast and south-facing slopes, imparts a distinct and captivating mineral character to each vintage.

Philosophy and History

The Redde winemaking lineage dates back to François Redde in 1630. In 1950, Michel Redde formalized the estate, planted new vines, and established the "La Moynerie" winery on the N7 highway. His son, Thierry Redde, modernized the facilities in 1977, installing a three-level winery to facilitate gravity-flow winemaking. Today, Sébastien and Romain Redde, representing the 8th generation, continue this legacy. They refine their vineyard management, emphasize understanding the terroir, practice sustainable viticulture in biodynamic conversion, and invest in the precision of their wines.

Production specifics

Hand-harvested, gravity-flow winemaking, no enzymes or added yeasts, controlled pressing. Vinification is carried out cuvée by cuvée in stainless steel tanks or barrels depending on the terroir. Aged on fine lees for 10–14 months, sometimes with bâtonnage (lees stirring) for added textural richness. Bottled at the estate after aging, ensuring consistency and continuity of quality.

Vintages & Sensory Profiles

Gustave Daudin (Chasselas) : delicate perfume, floral note, sweet, rare and exciting from its youth.
Petit F… (Modern Sauvignon) : lively, refreshing, ideal for an aperitif.
The Cornets : structured, intense, beautiful density and aromatic relief.
The Bois de Saint-Andelain : ample, deep, with smoky and stony accents.
Champs des Billons : chiseled, straight, salivating, very long on the palate.
Mince Bar : of great fineness, delicate texture, exceptional purity.
The Toupees : enveloping, exotic and seductive.
Majorum : powerful, ripe, concentrated, guaranteed aging potential.

Recognitions & Experiences

Acclaimed by the press (Bettane+Desseauve, RVF), the estate is ranked among the leading contemporary Pouilly wines. The "La Moynerie" tasting room remains a key destination for wine lovers in the Mâconnais region, offering tastings enriched with anecdotes, in-depth information about the soils, and a warm, family welcome. Sébastien and Romain prioritize wine tourism, showcasing their cellars and vineyards, and raising public awareness of sustainable, single-vineyard viticulture.
