Located in Villemontais, in the heart of the Côte Roannaise, Domaine des Pothiers is a family estate that has evolved over time. Under the leadership of Romain Paire, the estate converted to organic and biodynamic farming, emphasizing total respect for the terroir. For several generations, the family has been committed to producing authentic wines that express the purity of Gamay Saint-Romain and the uniqueness of the granite soil.

Production specificities

Everything is done to preserve the integrity of the grape and respect its natural expression:

• Entirely manual harvest for optimal sorting.
• Fermentation with indigenous yeasts, promoting natural vinification.
• Transfers the harvest by gravity, avoiding pumping and preserving the finesse of the wine.
• Aging in concrete vats, wooden truncated cones, tuns, amphorae or 500 litre barrels without the addition of new wood.
• Bottled directly at the estate.

Environmental commitment

The estate practices 100% organic and biodynamic viticulture. The soils are cultivated with green manures and plowed to promote deep rooting. Fertilization relies on compost from the estate's cattle farm, ensuring a natural and sustainable cycle.
