Alsace
Located in Rouffach, south of Colmar, Domaine Muré spans 28 hectares of exceptional Alsatian hillsides. The Clos Saint-Landelin, a historic 12-hectare monopole, is its crown jewel. It is complemented by prestigious terroirs such as the Grand Cru vineyards of Vorbourg and Zinnkoepflé, as well as the lieux-dits of Steinstück, Lutzeltal, and Côte de Rouffach. These terroirs offer a rich geological diversity: clay-limestone, sandstone, marl, and sand, on slopes ideally oriented to the south and sheltered from the winds. This diversity allows for a unique mineral expression in each cuvée, resulting in elegant wines with excellent aging potential.

The Muré family has been cultivating vines in Rouffach since 1650. In 1935, Alfred Muré acquired Clos Saint-Landelin and restructured its dry-stone terraces. Since then, twelve generations have succeeded one another, enhancing this heritage. Today, Véronique and Thomas Muré – the 12th generation – perpetuate the family legacy with rigor and passion, practicing organic farming since 1999 and certified biodynamic farming since 2013. The estate is founded on a strong philosophy: to express the terroir with sincerity, to preserve biodiversity, and to pass on centuries-old expertise. The vines are pruned using the single or double Guyot method, and yields are intentionally low (30 to 50 hl/ha) to promote aromatic concentration and the purity of the grapes.
The vineyard is managed biodynamically (Biodyvin & Demeter certified), with meticulous care for the land: tilling with horses, gentle plowing, on-site biodynamic composting, and spraying with horn manure (500P) and silica (501). Herbal teas made from plants such as horsetail, chamomile, and nettle are used to naturally strengthen the vines' defenses. The dense planting (up to 10,000 vines/ha) encourages deep root development, essential for expressing the minerality of the terroir. The harvest is done by hand, with careful sorting in the vineyard.
In the cellar, the lunar cycles guide the work. Fermentation is spontaneous, using the indigenous yeasts present in the winery. The addition of sulfur is kept to a minimum, thus respecting the microbial life and the authenticity of the wine. The white wines are vinified in large oak casks or stainless steel tanks, depending on the cuvée, with aging on fine lees to promote complexity and freshness. The red wines – primarily Pinot Noir – are vinified using traditional maceration and then aged in oak barrels for 12 to 18 months.
The wines of Domaine Muré grace the finest tables in France and internationally. Clos Saint-Landelin, Grand Cru Vorbourg, and Zinnkoepflé, among others, consistently demonstrate their excellence in the specialized press. Biodynamic practices, meticulous winemaking, and the elegant Muré style captivate wine lovers, sommeliers, and critics alike.
Thanks to ancestral know-how and environmentally friendly modernity, Véronique and Thomas Muré deliver living, vibrant wines, marked by their terroir and minerality, perfect for gastronomy.
