Rhône Hills: diversity and authenticity in the heart of the Rhône Valley

The Collines Rhodaniennes appellation encompasses wines from the hillsides located in the northern and heart of the Rhône Valley, between Vienne and Valence. This appellation, which includes several diverse terroirs, is distinguished by a wide variety of red, white, and rosé wines. Its rich and long winemaking history is marked by expertise passed down through generations, showcasing grape varieties adapted to the Mediterranean climate and the specific soils of the region.

A diverse terroir with varied riches

The Rhône Hills benefit from a temperate Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and maritime influences, promoting optimal grape ripening. The soils, composed of rolled pebbles, limestone, and clay, lend complexity and typicity to the wines. This diversity of terroirs allows for the production of wines with highly varied profiles, ranging from fruity and light wines to powerful and structured reds.

A variety of grape varieties and diverse styles

The red wines of the Rhône Hills are primarily made from grape varieties such as Syrah , Grenache , and Mourvèdre . The white wines, on the other hand, come from Viognier , Roussanne , or Marsanne . The rosés, fresh and fruity, are made from these same red grape varieties. This range offers a significant aromatic richness, with notes ranging from red fruit and spices to floral and mineral hints.

Food and wine pairings and shared pleasures

The red wines of the Rhône Hills pair perfectly with grilled meats, dishes with sauces, charcuterie, and aged cheeses. The white wines go well with fish, seafood, poultry, and Mediterranean dishes. The light and fruity rosés are perfect for aperitifs and summer meals.
