Granted AOC status in 1936, it is the only Rhône appellation classified as a cru exclusively dedicated to rosé . Tavel combines power, depth, freshness, and complexity, setting it apart from the typical easy-drinking rosé.
The Tavel vineyard covers approximately 950 hectares around the village of the same name, in the Gard department. It rests on three types of soil: rolled pebbles ,
Tavel wines are made from complex blends , often combining Grenache , Cinsault , Mourvèdre , Syrah , Clairette , or Carignan . Unlike classic pale rosés, Tavel wines are deeper in color, with a subtle tannic structure, a rich palate, and superior aging potential.
Tavel rosés are distinguished by their aromas of red fruit, citrus, sweet spices, and sometimes flowers. On the palate, they offer body, a lovely tension, and a long, flavorful finish. These are table wines, capable of accompanying an entire meal.
As an aperitif, a Tavel wine delights with its fruity freshness. At the table, it shines with Provençal cuisine, spicy dishes, grilled meats, fish in sauce, paella, composed salads, or aged cheeses. It also pairs beautifully with flavorful exotic or vegetarian dishes.
At Les Vins de Carole, we showcase the unique expertise of dedicated winemakers in Tavel. Our wines are selected for their typicity, balance, and ability to surprise. Powerful, fruity, and generous, our Tavel rosés reveal another dimension of rosé, far removed from typical summer offerings. Discover with us this exceptional vintage, a true ambassador of gastronomic rosé.
