Burgundy fascinates. Its elegant Chardonnays, its thoroughbred Pinot Noirs, its age-old terroirs. And its prices… often out of reach. Yet with a rigorous selection and a sound knowledge of the vineyards, it is entirely possible to find excellent Burgundy wines under €30. That is precisely what this selection is about: 65 wines chosen by our team of wine merchants, from €13 to €30, covering the main wine-growing areas of Burgundy.

The Mâconnais: bright whites from €13

This is where the best value in Burgundy begins. Frank, fruity, floral Chardonnay: wines made for immediate pleasure and for pairing at the table. Our selection covers the flagship appellations of the area:

  • Mâcon-Villages and Mâcon Chaintré: Domaine Mathias, Domaine Christophe Cordier, Domaine du Clos des Rocs
  • Viré-Clessé: Domaine Le Virolys, an essential reference in the Mâconnais (€16.50)
  • Saint-Véran Vieilles Vignes: Domaine Christophe Cordier (€23)
  • Pouilly-Fuissé Vieilles Vignes: Domaine Christophe Cordier (€30)

Chablis: iodine-tinged minerality from €19 to €28.50

On the northern edge of Burgundy, Chablis produces Chardonnays of unique tension, marked by the Kimmeridgian chalk. Four estates represent this terroir in our selection:

  • Petit Chablis and Chablis: Grand Calcaire, Domaine du Colombier, Domaine Defaix Bernard (from €19)
  • Chablis Premier Cru Vau Ligneau: Domaine Bernard Michaut (€27-28.50)

The Côte Chalonnaise: affordable Burgundian elegance

Often underrated, the Côte Chalonnaise offers Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays of real class, at prices well below those of the Côte d'Or. Premiers Crus included:

  • Givry Premier Cru: Domaine Vincent Lumpp (Le Vigron red 2023 and white 2024, €22.50; Clos-Saint-Paul Monopole red 2023, €26.50), Domaine Laurent Mouton
  • Rully: Domaine Jacques Dury (La Chaume white 2020, Montmorin red 2020, from €25), Domaine Philippe Girard
  • Mercurey Vieilles Vignes: Domaine Charton, Domaine Raquillet, Domaine Tupinier Bautista (from €27)
  • Montagny Premier Cru Les Platières: Domaine Berthenet (from €20)

The Côte d'Or: discreet appellations, great names

The Côte d'Or keeps its most affordable prices for its regional appellations and little-known villages, which are sometimes in the hands of exceptional estates.

  • Bourgogne Pinot Noir and Chardonnay: Maison Edouard Delaunay "Septembre" (from €19), Domaine Marc Colin, Domaine Larue, Domaine Didier Amiot, Domaine Ramonet (Aligoté, €30)
  • Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits "Charmont": Maison Edouard Delaunay white and red (€29); David Duband "Louis Auguste" red 2023 (€27)
  • Savigny-lès-Beaune and Chorey-lès-Beaune: Domaine Machard de Gramont (€24.90 to €25)
  • Organic Marsannay: Domaine Jean Fournier "Cuvée Saint Urbain" white and red (€30), the only Burgundy appellation to produce white, red and rosé
  • Côte de Nuits-Villages Les Perrières: Frédéric Magnien (€22)
  • Organic Bourgogne Côte d'Or: Domaine Jean Fournier (€25), Domaine Larue (€22)

And to celebrate…

A Crémant de Bourgogne Extra Brut (Maison Louis Picamelot "Les Reipes", €23) for an aperitif or to celebrate without breaking the bank.

How we select

Every bottle in this selection has been tasted and approved by our team before joining our cellar. No generic négociant wines, no supermarket cuvées: only family estates or trusted houses, chosen for their authenticity and their rigour vintage after vintage. Based in Nuits-Saint-Georges for more than 10 years, we select these wines directly from the producers.
