Established in Rully since 1955, Domaine Jacques Dury is now run by Hervé and his son Rémi, a young winegrower who won the "Young Winemaker of the Year" award, a recognition that reflects the quiet ambition of this family estate in the Côte Chalonnaise. The Montmorin lieu-dit, perched on the clay-limestone slopes typical of Rully, gives the Pinot Noir an expression that is both fresh and structured, far from any southern-style excess. Here, the handing down of know-how shows in every gesture, from vineyard to cellar, with particular care given to barrel ageing.

The colour is a luminous ruby, with emerging garnet highlights that already point to a fine maturity. The nose opens on fresh cherry and morello cherry, before hints of pink peppercorn and sweet, almost oriental spices appear. On the palate, the attack is clean and silky; the wine unfolds with lightness, carried by tannins of remarkable finesse for the 2020 vintage. The long, fresh finish leaves a pleasant mineral tension that draws you back to the glass.

This Rully Montmorin comes into its own with herb-roasted guinea fowl, duck breast with cherries, or a board of Époisses and Cîteaux to stay in Burgundy. Serve at 16 °C, ideally after a short decanting of around twenty minutes to let its aromas express themselves fully.
