Nuits-Saint-Georges red wines have a deep color, aromas of black fruit, cherry, and spice, sometimes with truffle or leather notes developing with age. On the palate, they are structured, with firm tannins in their youth, becoming silky with time. A few rare Chardonnay cuvées are also produced, yielding expressive, floral, and mineral white wines.
