It allows for the production of wines of great finesse and impressive power. In France, this grape variety is mainly planted in the vineyards of the Alsatian foothills and the Vosges Mountains, and remains relatively unknown in Languedoc where it was planted recently." - Catherine Delaunay

It is not widely cultivated in other parts of France and remains relatively unknown in Languedoc. A late-ripening variety well-suited to poor, clay-limestone soils, it produces very high-quality wines that are elegant, delicate, and possess excellent aging potential, which I greatly appreciate." - Catherine Delaunay
"A versatile grape variety, Chenin Blanc offers a wide range of styles, from dry whites to sweet and sparkling wines. While it prefers cooler climates, it also adapts to warmer temperatures, particularly in the heart of a few select terroirs in the Pays d'Oc. Rare in our region, I am delighted to unveil this interpretation that combines freshness, minerality, and elegance." - Catherine Delaunay

Les Jamelles
Languedoc-Roussillon
Les Jamelles is located in the heart of Languedoc-Roussillon, on diverse terroirs blending clay-limestone pebbles, rolled stones, and gravelly soils typical of the Hérault region. The estate showcases regional appellations such as Pays d'Oc, IGP Méditerranée, and AOC Languedoc, from plots on hillsides or sunny plains. This diversity of soils allows the wines to fully express their Mediterranean character while also contributing finesse, freshness, and aromatic complexity.
Les Jamelles cultivates a rich array of southern grape varieties: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, and Carignan for the reds and rosés. For the whites, the estate showcases varieties such as Viognier, Chardonnay, Roussanne, Marsanne, Sauvignon Blanc, and Vermentino. This diversity allows for a broad and balanced sensory exploration.
Founded in 1995 by Catherine Delaunay, a trained oenologist, Les Jamelles was born from a strong conviction: France, like the New World, can produce great varietal wines that are both accessible and expressive. A visionary, she chose the Languedoc region for its geological richness and exceptional sunshine. The range quickly expanded far beyond classic grape varieties to include wines made from single-vineyard selections, complex blends, and modern experiments such as orange wine. The approach remains true to a commitment to clarity, authenticity, and deliciousness.
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, sometimes by hand for single-vineyard wines. Each grape variety is vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, using appropriate techniques: gentle maceration, controlled extraction, lees stirring, and aging on fine lees or in barrels, depending on the wine's profile. The estate prides itself on meticulous attention to technical details to respect the fruit and the typicity of the terroir. Yields are moderate, around 45 to 50 hl/ha, ensuring concentration and balance.
Les Jamelles is praised for its accessible, high-quality approach. Guides such as Bettane & Desseauve, La Revue du Vin de France, and Decanter commend the consistency and precision of its wines. International commercial success also confirms their relevance, particularly among consumers who appreciate straightforward and expressive wines.
With its innovative spirit, rigorous winemaking, and passion for the terroir, Les Jamelles has become an essential name in Languedoc wines. Its wines are distinguished by their clarity, aromatic richness, and constant pursuit of balance.
Discover the Jamelles wine selection and let yourself be seduced by their aromatic richness and incredible freshness!
