Located in the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise, the Bouzeron appellation is a gem of the Burgundy wine region. Unique in its kind, it is the only village-level AOC dedicated exclusively to the Aligoté grape variety. A young appellation at the heart of an ancient tradition

While the Aligoté grape variety has been cultivated in Burgundy for centuries, the Bouzeron appellation was officially recognized in 1998, succeeding the "Bourgogne Aligoté Bouzeron" designation. It covers approximately 50 hectares on the clay-limestone slopes of the villages of Bouzeron and Chassey-le-Camp. Thanks to the high-quality work of the winemakers and a greater appreciation of the grape variety, Bouzeron has risen to the status of a fully-fledged appellation, perfectly illustrating the potential of Aligoté on carefully selected terroirs.

One grape variety, one signature

Aligoté, often overshadowed by Chardonnay, finds a noble expression here. In Bouzeron, it yields dry white wines with aromas of lemon, green apple, white flowers, and sometimes hazelnut. The palate is taut and lively, with a refreshing minerality and a beautiful length. These are wines for immediate enjoyment but can also gain complexity after a few years in the bottle.

Food and pleasure pairings

Bouzeron wines are perfect as an aperitif or with seafood, oysters, grilled fish, composed salads, or goat cheeses. Their natural vibrancy also makes them a good match for Thai dishes, sushi, or cuisines with tangy flavors.
