Light wines: freshness, suppleness and conviviality

Light wines are prized for their approachability, low tannin and alcohol content, and thirst-quenching character. Whether red, white, or rosé, these wines are perfect for convivial gatherings and simple meals. The "Light" collection from Vins de Carole offers supple, airy, and refreshing wines, ideal for enjoying as an aperitif or paired with delicate dishes.

Light reds: fruity and supple

Light red wines are characterized by soft tannins, a low alcohol content (often between 11% and 12.5%), and a pleasant freshness. Grape varieties such as Gamay , Pinot Noir , and Cinsault are featured prominently.

  • Beaujolais (Gamay) – crisp red fruit, fluid texture
  • Pinot Noir – cherry, raspberry, elegance
  • Loire reds (Côt, Grolleau, light Cabernet Franc)

Best enjoyed slightly chilled (14-15°C) with cured meats, white meats or vegetarian dishes.

Light white and rosé wines: liveliness and freshness

Light white wines are often dry, low in alcohol, and very refreshing. Typical grape varieties include Sauvignon Blanc , Folle Blanche , and Melon de Bourgogne . Light rosés (Grenache, Cinsault) are equally suitable.

  • Gros Plant du Pays Nantais – mineral and invigorating
  • Rosé from the Loire – tangy strawberry, pleasant tension
  • Sauvignon Blanc – lemon, fresh herbs

Ideal for appetizers, salads, grilled fish or fresh cheeses. Serving temperature: 8-10°C.

Easy-to-digest and versatile wines

A light wine is appreciated for its easy drinking , its thirst-quenching quality, and its compatibility with modern, simple, and healthy cuisine. It also makes an excellent introduction for novices or an ideal alternative to more powerful wines.

Our "Light" selection

Les Vins de Carole offers a carefully curated selection of light wines , chosen for their freshness, balance, and approachability. Enjoy them without hesitation, in all simplicity.
