Château Puech Haut's vineyard stretches over 150 hectares at between 50 and 150 metres altitude, some twenty kilometres north-east of Montpellier. Quaternary rolled pebbles resting on a clay-limestone bedrock make up the terroir of Argali: these stones store the heat of the Mediterranean sun by day and release it gradually at night, creating the even ripening that characterises the estate's wines. Grenache and Cinsault, the emblematic grapes of Languedoc rosé, find ideal conditions here to express freshness and fruit without ever sacrificing tension.

The winemaking firmly defines this style: direct pressing, fermentation at a very low temperature of 12 to 14 °C, and malolactic fermentation deliberately blocked to retain the grapes' natural acidity. The colour is a bright pale pink with pearly highlights. The nose is clean and spontaneous, with fresh pomelo and white peach flesh, and a floral touch of peony that lightens the whole. The palate is lively and crisp from the attack, carried by a thirst-quenching tension that fades into a clean, short finish: exactly what you want when the sun is beating down.

Serve well chilled, between 8 and 10 °C, without waiting. The 2024 Argali rosé is made for spontaneous moments: a board of fine charcuterie as an aperitif, grilled prawns with lime or a rocket and feta salad on a summer evening.

Our team's opinion

A rosé cut out for the here and now: that tangy tension of pomelo and white peach doesn't take long to find. You open it, serve it chilled, and it does exactly what you ask of it.
