Champagne François Secondé is a grower-producer (récoltant-manipulant) in Sillery, a Grand Cru of the Montagne de Reims and one of the 17 villages rated 100% on the appellation's scale. The Secondé family have tended their vines here for several generations with the precision and rigour of a winegrower devoted to his terroir. This non-vintage Grand Cru Brut blends 67% Pinot Noir and 33% Chardonnay, the house's two great grapes, carefully vinified and aged on the lees to develop complexity and finesse. This Grand Cru Brut expresses itself with generosity and elegance. The nose offers notes of ripe apple, fresh brioche and white fruit, with an underlying chalky minerality typical of the Montagne de Reims Grands Crus. The palate is broad and balanced, the bubbles fine and creamy, the finish long and lightly spiced. A complete grower Champagne, ideal for every occasion. As an aperitif with canapés, or with a meal alongside shellfish, fine fish or gourmet starters. Serve between 8 and 10 °C.
