Domaine Rapet Père et Fils spans 20 hectares spread across Pernand-Vergelesses, Savigny-les-Beaune, Chorey-les-Beaune, Aloxe-Corton, and Beaune. Located at the crossroads of the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune, its vineyards lie at the foot of the Corton hill, nestled in a verdant and tranquil setting. The limestone, clay-limestone, and gravelly soils of these villages offer a diversity of terroirs capable of expressing the full range of wines: from white Burgundies to fresh and fruity reds. The estate distinguishes itself by its ability to produce both characterful white and red wines from renowned and complementary vineyards.
Chardonnay (for white wines) – Pinot Noir (for red wines) – Aligoté (exceptionally for entry-level wines)
Heir to a winemaking tradition that began in 1765, Domaine Rapet Père et Fils embodies the authenticity of family expertise passed down through generations. An authentic wine-tasting cup dating from 1765, passed down through the years, testifies to this historical continuity. Following in the footsteps of Robert and then Roland, Vincent and his wife Sylvette perpetuate this heritage with passion and exacting standards. For over two hundred and fifty years, the estate has been committed to quality, where close ties to the terroir, respect for Burgundian traditions, and a warm welcome are at the heart of its vision.
At Domaine Rapet, vine cultivation relies on meticulous practices. Bud thinning, trellising, and leaf removal on the east-facing row promote optimal grape ripening while ensuring natural ventilation to limit disease. Mechanical soil work (hilling, hoeing, and tractor use for maintenance in the Burgundian style) preserves soil structure and encourages biodiversity.
Viticulture is practiced using sustainable farming methods, with minimal treatments adapted to climatic conditions, thus controlling yields to extract the best from each terroir. The harvest is carried out exclusively by hand, with the grapes collected in small crates to preserve their integrity.
For the white wines (primarily Chardonnay, with an entry-level Aligoté from Bourgogne), the grapes arrive unharvested at the winery and are then gently pressed for three hours in a pneumatic press. After 24 hours of cold settling, fermentation begins in barrels, 30% of which are new. Aging on the lees with bâtonnage (lees stirring) continues until July, followed by bottling after 12 months.
The red winemaking process prioritizes respecting the fruit and structure: after meticulous sorting, fermentation lasts 15 days with punch-downs to extract color and tannins, followed by aging in barrels, 20% of which are new. Racking is done manually using bellows, without a pump, to minimize handling and preserve the full richness of the juice.
Representing the eighth generation of Burgundian winemakers, Domaine Rapet is renowned for the consistent quality of its wines and the authenticity of its style. Its wines are highly praised by enthusiasts who value both their character and aromatic precision. Visitors, tourists, and connoisseurs alike are warmly welcomed and attest to a rich and convivial sensory experience.
The white and red Burgundies from Domaine Rapet are appreciated for their typical expression, a blend of freshness, delicate fruitiness, and a balance of finesse and structure. Discerning wine lovers praise the clarity of their village identities: the floral delicacy of Pernand-Vergelesses, the lusciousness of Savigny-les-Beaune, and the mineral tension of the terroirs near Corton.
